Betty Jo Muse Long, 79, of Elk Valley (Pioneer), TN passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at her daughter’s home in DeFuniak Springs, FL.

She was born November 29, 1938 in Clinchmore, TN.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Long; grandsons, Andrew Blake Long, Richard Cash Brassfield; father, Richard “Dick” Muse; mother: Adaline Carson Muse; brothers, Raymond Muse, Phillip Muse, Gene Muse; sister, Frankie Turner.

She is survived by sons, Billy Joe Long, James O’Neal Long and wife June; daughters, Polly Ann Miller and husband William, ​Connie Lynn Duncan and husband Jackie; like a daughter, Honey Brassfield; grandchildren, Jeremy, Valerie, Autumn, Sami Jo, Will, Hope, Darrell, Megan and Matt; great grandchildren, Timothy, Ryan, Miley, Lily, Braxton and Elijah; brothers, Bob Muse and wife Karen, Lynn Muse and wife Linda, Glenn Muse and wife Darlene, John L. Muse and wife Gwinn, Duke Muse, Clyde Muse; sisters-in-law, Jessie Ayers, Trula Muse, Betty Muse; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family to mourn her passing.

Funeral services were held Sunday, April 8, at the Stanfill United Baptist Church with Rev. David Morgan and Rev. Jeff Lloyd officiating.

Burial followed in the Valley View Cemetery (Pioneer, TN).

Harp Funeral Home of Jellico in charge of arrangements.
