Betty Lawson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on January 24, 2026, at the age of 84, after a short stay at the Williamsburg Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born on February 10, 1941, in Gatliff, Kentucky, Betty spent her life cultivating a home filled with love, laughter, and an abundance of unforgettable Sunday dinners. Betty, a retired dedicated worker, found her true joy in the simple pleasures of life: the shuffle of a deck of cards, the warm bustle of family gatherings, and the quiet moments shared with her loved ones.
Betty’s legacy of love and devotion will continue to be celebrated by her husband of 67 years, George Russell Lawson of Emlyn, KY; her daughter, Deborah (Ronnie) of Williamsburg, KY; her grandchildren, Stephanie Duncan (Ryan) of Oneida, TN and Shonda Thrift (Daniel) of Mauldin, SC; and her great-grandchildren, Rylan Duncan, Peyton Duncan, and Briella Thrift. She also leaves behind her sisters, Joann Siler (Arnold) of Cincinnati, Ohio and Lana Perkins of Williamsburg, KY; and her cherished friends, Sandra Witt and Linnia Rains.
Betty was predeceased by her parents, Joe Edd Perkins and Bessie Mae (Mowery) Perkins; and her brother, Edward Perkins.
