Betty Sue (Smith) Lindsay, affectionately known as “Sue,” went to be with the Lord on November 7, 2025, at UK Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. Born on September 30, 1944, to Perry Smith and Genevieve (Hurst) Smith.
Sue lived a life of devotion, love, and kindness that touched all who knew her.
Sue was preceded in death by her beloved parents; her husband, Donald Gene Lindsay; her son, Donald Scott Lindsay; and her brothers, Denver Smith, David Smith, and George Smith. Their memories live on through the family and friends who cherished them, as well as through Sue’s enduring legacy.
She is survived by her loving son, Dave Lindsay and his wife Lisa; grandsons, Jacob Lindsay, Weston Lindsay, Russell Lindsay (Grace), and Jared Lindsay (Andrea); her cherished granddaughter, Brittany Foley and husband Clinton; and her precious great-grandchildren, Colton Lindsay, Landon Lindsay, Nora Lindsay, Nevaeh Foley, Emma Foley, Reid Foley, and Kade Foley. Sue’s family was the light of her life, and she took great pride in every one of them.
Sue is also survived by her devoted sisters, Tishie Jones and Kathy Perry; daughters-in-law, Robin Russell and Christian Lindsay; sister-in-law, Linda Meredith; and a host of other dear family members and friends who will deeply mourn her passing.
Her kindness, strength, and unwavering faith will be remembered by all who were fortunate to know her.
Funeral service was Tuesday, November 11, at the Llewellyn Funeral Home Chapel in Jellico, Tennessee, with Rev. Veron Jones officiating.
Interment followed in the Jellico Cemetery.
The Llewellyn Funeral Home of Jellico is honored to serve the Lindsay family during this time of remembrance and celebration of Sue’s life.
