BHC president speaks at Southern KY Chamber of Commerce luncheon

Date:

Angelia Foster was the special guest presenter at the February membership luncheon of the Southern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. The luncheon took place Tuesday at the Corbin Center.

Foster, who took over as president of Baptist Health Corbin in the fall of 2024, told chamber members about her “100 days of listening” tour where she put a special emphasis on listening to the comments and concerns of hospital employees and patrons in order to decide how to best move forward into the future.

Foster also went into detail about the new patient care tower expansion project, which she said will break ground this May and take about 25 months to complete.

Once complete, Foster said the expansion will grow the hospital’s emergency department from just 14 beds to 35 dedicated rooms. BHC’s 10 ICU beds will also expand to 24, and the amount of square footage in the NICU department will be more than doubled.

Other topics that Foster touched on during her presentation was the expansion of services into the London area in the coming year, and she also commended hospital employees and other volunteers for their work during the recent “100 Days of Service” initiative that benefited local communities in a variety of ways.

Tuesday’s luncheon was sponsored by the City of Corbin.
