Bobby Lee Akers. 90, a loving and devoted father, grandfather, and friend to all whose lives he touched.
Bobby departed from us on December 19, 2025 leaving behind a legacy of love, respect, and heartfelt memories.
Bobby, a beloved figure in the Williamsburg community, was renowned not only for his dedication towards the Williamsburg Board of Education, where he served diligently until his retirement.
Bobby was the loving father of Donna Mahan of Williamsburg, KY, Larry Akers (Vivian Hill) of Williamsburg, KY, Fred Akers of Williamsburg, KY, and Mike Akers (Sheri) of Knoxville, TN.
He was a cherished grandfather to Freddy Akers Jr, Loraleigh Akers, Sherissa Lynch, Kaitlin Akers, Marisa Akers, Anthony Akers, Daniel Mahan, Kyle Akers, Kelly Dunlap and eight great-grandchildren. A loving sister, Alice Lytle of Williamsburg, KY.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 69 years, Amy Akers; his parents, Roy and Sylvia (Sexton) Akers; his infant daughter, Anita Akers; and his sister, Lillie Lytle. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 23, at Croley Funeral Home with Rev Gerald Mullins officiating.
Burial followed at the Ryan Cemetery, in Williamsburg.
