Brock pleads guilty to charges stemming from WCDC escape attempt

Date:

The second of three men who attempted to escape from the Whitley County Detention Center last year has entered a guilty plea to charges stemming from the incident.

Paul Brock, 42, faced charges of attempting to escape from a penitentiary, first-degree persistent felony offender and three counts of kidnapping stemming from an April 2022 incident in which him and two other inmates participated in an attempted escape from the WCDC.

Brock appeared in Whitley Circuit Court to enter the plea Monday afternoon before Judge Dan Ballou, who was presiding over the case. The plea came following an agreement with prosecutors in exchange for a reduced prison sentence.
