Burke offering to repay KASBO $25,800

A former Whitley County school district finance officer, who was fired last month amid allegations of misappropriation of school funds, is apparently willing to repay over $25,000 to a statewide organization that she allegedly forged checks from. So far her effort to repay the money has been rejected.

This revelation was made during a preliminary hearing Monday morning for Leigh Burke, 54, of Williamsburg, who is charged with four counts of first-degree forgery.
