Rep. Nick Wilson discusses hopes for bills filed in early days of 2026 legislative session

The 2026 meeting of the Kentucky General Assembly has been underway for just over two weeks in Frankfort. In that time, 82nd District Rep. Nick Wilson has been hard at work, re-filing two bills from last year’s legislative session, filing a pair of new bills focused on childcare, and co-sponsoring another bill that aims to amend the law as it relates to the state’s inheritance tax. Wilson has filed House Bill 215, which proposes a special discounted rate at state park lodging resorts and golf courses for Kentucky residents. Kentucky Fishing Expo returns to Corbin Arena

This past weekend, Pittsburg Marine and Cumberland Valley National Bank presented the Annual Kentucky Fishing Expo at the Corbin Arena. Visitors were able to shop for gear and learn about a wide range of outdoor sports offerings. Special guests included pro fishing legend Hank Parker and former President of FLW Outdoors Charlie Evans.

Thanks to the generosity of a long list of donors, the Corbin Rotary Club's Empty Stocking Fund Christmas gift giveaway program was able to spend over $32,000 this year to provide shoes, toys, books and more to a total of 530 local kids. Trick or Treating hours, Christmas open house, parade dates

Little ghosts and goblins will have two chances to trick or treat in Corbin on Halloween. The Cumberland River Cruise-In takes over downtown W’Burg

Photos by TIMOTHY WYATT  This year’s lone Cumberland River Cruise-In saw several dozen classic and fancy vehicles take over downtown Williamsburg on Saturday. The vehicles were lined around the perimeter of the old Whitley County Courthouse while vendors were set up in the yard. Williamsburg Main Street Program opted to move to only one cruise-in this year instead of doing it monthly throughout the summer in an attempt to drive up engagement.  Source link
