 The Corbin soccer program christened their new complex Monday night with a sweep of the Pulaski County Maroons. The new field is located adjacent to Corbin Primary School off 5^th Street. When completed it will be a state of the art complex for Corbin High School soccer.

Day one of the Nibroc festival has come and gone and it’s Friday morning already.

 It’s almost here, the 2009 NIBROC gets underway today. The crowds should start rolling into Corbin this afternoon and grow throughout the week.

 The Williamsburg Lady Jacket golf team is off to a quick start according to coach Jeff Sharpe.

The Lady Jackets won their third straight All A 13^th Region Golf championship, August 3, then won their second straight CJ Ready Mix High School Challenge at London’s Crooked Creek, Tuesday, August 4. They followed that up four days later with a fifth place finish in the Pulaski County Invitational against a strong field.

 For the second consecutive season officials with the Tri-County Sports Authority football program have been scrambling to try and find a place for hundreds of local children to play football and cheer.

I am barely an hour into my workday on Thursday morning and I am already excited about this year’s Nibroc Festival, and with good reason.

 A couple of things said by Richard Petty came to mind following the rain-shortened American Mortgage Lenders 100 at Corbin Speedway on Saturday evening, August 1. 

 Josh Brock has a burning desire to win. He has been around car racing all of his life, as a very young toddler he knew he wanted to follow in his dad’s footsteps and get behind the wheel on a racetrack.
