Cecil Larry Brewer, of Corbin, Kentucky, formerly of Woodbine was born on March 6, 1923, in Knox County, Kentucky and passed away on January 2, 2025.
Cecil was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who deeply loved his family and community. He was a hardworking factory worker, a faithful Bible teacher for over 50 years, a member of Highland Park Baptist Church and a proud World War II veteran who served in France, Germany, and Italy. Cecil was also a dedicated Deacon for many years in his church community.
Cecil is survived by his son, Ron Brewer and his wife Michelle; his daughter, Jo Anne Hall; and his grandchildren, Tracy Adams, Jonathan Hall and his wife Dawn, Candace Brewer, Joshua Drovdahl, and James Drovdahl. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Courtney Rushing and her husband Michael, Timothy Hall, Aaron Hall, and Abigail Hall. Several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing. Cecil was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Della (Hembree) Brewer; his parents, Chris and Myrtle Brewer; his daughter, Paulette Brewer Schug; his seven brothers; and his two sisters.
A visitation for Cecil will be held on Saturday, January 4, at 12:00 pm at Croley Funeral Home, located at 103 South 2nd Street, Williamsburg, Kentucky.
The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at the same location, with the Rev. Jonathan Hall officiating.
Cecil will be laid to rest at 3:00 pm at the Cumberland Memorial Gardens, located at 5970 U.S. 25, Corbin, Kentucky.
Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #88 Corbin, KY.
