Clifford Jones, a notable figure and respected member of the Williamsburg community, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2025.
Born on March 29, 1928, in Williamsburg, Kentucky, Clifford was a luminary in his community, having dedicated his life to service and fellowship.
Clifford was a devoted and beloved public servant, having spent many years working as a postal clerk. He was also a proud member of various clubs and organizations within the community. Clifford, together with his father and brothers, served our country valiantly across several wars, starting from the Spanish American War to Vietnam.
This commendable line of service is an enduring testament to his family’s dedication and commitment to the nation. Beyond his professional and community engagements, Clifford was also an active and the oldest member of the Main Street Baptist Church and the men’s senior Sunday School class. He enjoyed spending his Saturdays at the Gospel Barn, a testament to his strong faith and love for gospel music.
Clifford was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jones; father, James Jones; mother, Zora Jones; brothers, Carl Jones, Charles Jones, Orville Jones, and James Jones; and sisters, Carrie Moore and Kathryn Work. He was also preceded by his special friend, Roseana Grant.
His life will be fondly remembered and celebrated by his nephew, Gary Jones; sister, Jeanette Ellison; special friends, Teresa Randle; several nieces, nephews, family and friends to mourn his passing, also special caregivers, Susie Canada and Tracy Williams.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Saturday, May 31, at 11:00 am at the Croley Funeral Home, located at 103 South 2nd Street, Williamsburg, Kentucky.
The funeral service will be held immediately afterward, starting at 12:00 pm at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Whitley Memorial Gardens.
