 The Corbin Redhounds couldn’t hold off the Clay County Tigers in Manchester Wednesday afternoon. After coming from five runs down to take a 3-run lead, the Redhounds couldn’t hold off the pesky Tigers.

Clay County (18-12) scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth to pull within a run then Brian Griffin hit a solo home run in the sixth to tie the game at 9-9. The Tigers scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Trailing 6-1 after two innings, the Redhounds exploded for eight runs off Clay County starter, Justin Smith.

Senior Ben House scored twice in the inning. He led off with a single and scored on a Trace Vorbeck sacrifice. The second time at the plate House drew a walk and scored on a Cody Duncum double. Duncum, also scored earlier in the inning after reaching on a walk.

The big hits came when Ryan Clouse had a two-run double and Ducum hit his double with the bases-loaded. Clouse, Drew Farley and House all scored on the hit.

The Redhounds (18-14) will be in action Friday when they host the Middlesboro Yellow Jackets and Saturday they will take on Wayne County at 5 p.m.
