Corbin BOE votes to raise taxes, tuition

Property taxes to support Corbin Independent Schools are going up but in an effort to balance the equation, so is tuition.

At the regular monthly meeting last Thursday, the Corbin Board of Education approved a four percent increase in the property tax rate. The new rate, which will be assessed on the 2017 property tax bills, will be 64.1 cents per $100 of assessed value. The current rate is 62.2 cents.
