Corbin Fire Department conducts annual training

Date:

Corbin Fire Department participated in a simulated live burn on June 20 to complete some of their required training hours for the year.

The simulation was held in the parking lot of the Corbin Arena.

A trailer, owned by the Pulaski County Fire Commission, was set up for the training. The trailer had different sections to simulate different aspects of fighting fires including a couch fire, kitchen fire and ventilation procedures.

The fire within the trailer can be controlled from a small room within the trailer. Operators can increase or decrease the flames or extinguish the fire completely for the safety of those inside the trailer.
