Corbin firefighters read to students at KCEOC during Read Across America

Corbin Firefighters visited several classrooms on March 7 at the KCEOC Community Action Partnership’s Laurel County Child Development Center.

The firefighters read several books as part of Read Across America Month celebrations.

Read Across America is a National Education Association (NEA) initiative that started in 1998. The celebration of reading is the largest in the United States, according to the NEA website.

Throughout Read Across America Month, students are encouraged to read each day.

Participating firefighters include: Trevor Allen, Tommy McDaniel, Stephen Hunter, Isaac Napier, Andy Melton and James Smith.
