Corbin makes masks optional beginning Nov. 15

Date:

The Corbin Board of Education voted unanimously to make masks optional district wide beginning Monday, Nov. 15 during Thursday’s meeting.

The “Motion to make masks optional (ie. Parent/guardian preference) throughout Corbin School District,” was made by board member Todd Childers. The motion also included the caveat that the mask policy could be changed in the future.

The board agreed that masks would be optional district wide including on school buses.

The motion was made since Whitley County is currently no longer in the red zone for COVID incidence rate.

As of Wednesday, the state reported Whitley County’s COVID incidence rate at 15. The rate places Whitley County in the 25 lowest counties in Kentucky.
