Corbin Police asking for help to identify coin machine thief

Date:

Corbin Police is asking for the public’s help to identify the individual suspected of stealing cash out of the change machine at Tri-County Cineplex last week.

Lieutenant Coy Wilson, the department’s public affairs officer, said video surveillance shows the male subject in the game room area of the movie theater between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. on July 17.

“He was in there by himself as far as we know,” Wilson said when asked if anyone else was involved.

The individual reportedly used some type of key to get the machine unlocked and removed the cash.

“It was less than $100,” Wilson said.

The male subject then leaves the building, getting into a white four-door car.

“We could not tell what make or model it was,” Wilson said of the vehicle.

Wilson said no similar incidents had been reported in the area.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to contact Corbin Police at 528-1122.

Callers may remain anonymous.
