Corbin Police Department responded to a call for a collision with injury on Feb. 23, but when officers arrived, no collision was located.

Officers did find, however, a vehicle that had been reported stolen in 2019 concealed under black plastic.

Corbin Police Department Major Coy Wilson said dispatch received a call from an anonymous Laurel County caller.

The caller reported a vehicle accident, but when police responded, they only found and recovered the 2019 stolen vehicle, which was located near the end of King Street.

The vehicle was actually visible from the interstate and on Google Maps, if an individual knew where to look.

Wilson said a local investigation has been opened regarding the vehicle, but the department had no leads as of press time.
