A number of college students with local ties have been named to the Dean’s List or President’s List of their respective schools.
Lincoln Memorial University
Corbin’s Sierra Taylor, Allison Huddleston, Erica Angel and Devika Patil have all been named to the Lincoln Memorial University Dean’s List for the fall semester for 2024.
Over 700 undergraduates were recognized for achieving high academic honors. To be placed on Dean’s List, the student must be a full-time undergraduate and have a 3.5 or higher grade-point-average for the semester.
Lincoln Memorial University is a values-based learning community dedicated to providing educational experiences in the liberal arts and professional studies. Its main campus is located in Harrogate, Tennessee.
The Citadel
Corbin’s Kathryn Lewis was one of the more than 670 cadets and students recognized for their academic achievements during the fall 2024 semester and awarded gold stars at The Citadel.
Gold stars are awarded to cadets and students at The Citadel who achieved a 3.7 grade point average or higher. Cadets and students, who achieve gold star recognition, are also placed on The Citadel’s dean’s list.
Those cadets may wear gold stars on their uniforms throughout the semester following their academic achievement. A gold star recognition certificate is awarded to non-cadet students who meet the requirements; veteran and active duty students are also awarded challenge coins.
The Citadel, with its iconic campus located in Charleston, South Carolina, offers a classic military college education for young men and women focused on leadership excellence and academic distinction. The approximately 2,300 members of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets are not required to serve in the military, but about one-third of each class earn commissions to become officers in every branch of U.S. military service.
