Corbin woman accused of assaulting grandmother

A Corbin woman is facing two counts of misdemeanor assault for allegedly hitting her grandmother, aunt and uncle during a child custody dispute Thursday night.

Laurel County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 29-year-old Ashley Rayburn on two counts of fourth-degree assault – domestic violence.

According to Sheriff John Root, deputies were called to a business on U.S. 25W about 8:45 p.m. in response to a complaint that an individual was refusing to leave the business.

Through the course of the investigation, Deputy Rick Cloyd, along with Sgt. Robbie Grimes, determined that Rayburn had assaulted the family members.

Rayburn was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Facility, where she is being held on $500 cash bond.
