Corbin woman appointed to state council

Date:

Gov. Andy Beshear has appointed a Corbin woman to a state council.

On Oct. 21, Beshear announced that he had appointed Brandi Gilley as a member of the Kentucky Eating Disorder Council.

Gilley is the director of nutrition services at the Laurel County Health Department. She replaces Laurie Larkin, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring on Oct. 3, 2024.

In 2020, KRS 210.051 established the Kentucky Eating Disorder Council within the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.

Goals of the council include: overseeing the development and implementation of eating disorder awareness, education and prevention programs; identifying strategies for improving access to adequate diagnosis and treatment services; and assisting the Cabinet for Health and Family Services in identifying eating disorder research projects.
