Corbin woman charged with stealing from employer

Date:

A Corbin woman has been arrested for allegedly stealing approximately $3,000 from the business for which she worked.

Laurel County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Tammy Lynn Miracle, 47, Monday night following an investigation by Detective Kyle Gray into the thefts at the unidentified Corbin area business.

Lt. Robbie Grimes, the department’s public affairs officer, stated that deputies were contacted after company officials discovered the thefts.

“Through the investigation, Gray discovered that Miracle had been unlawfully voiding transactions and keeping the money,” Grimes stated. “Miracle had unlawfully taken at least $3,000 from the business at the time of the arrest.”

“Miracle was also observed to be in possession of methamphetamine,” Grimes stated.

Miracle was charged with theft by unlawful taking of the value over $500 but under $10,000, and first-degree possession of methamphetamine.

Miracle was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center where she is being held on a $5,000 cash bond.
