Corbin’s Tackett Wilson named one of top football officials in Kentucky

Date:

Tackett Wilson, of Corbin, was one of three finalists for the Kentucky High School Athletic Association’s Outstanding Football Official Award.

Wilson along with Burney Jenkins of Georgetown and Scott Moore of Union were named as the finalists.

KHSAA officials noted that nominees are selected not only what he or she does on the field, but the contributions the individual makes to the community, along with their leadership efforts, training efforts and mentoring of newer officials.

Finalists were named in each of the 10 sports in which the KHSAA licenses officials.

With officiating numbers declining at the national level, the KHSAA is always accepting applications from individuals interested in giving back to their community. Officiating remains a great avenue to stay active, earn extra spending money and ensure that high school athletics are preserved for the current and future generations.
