Danny L. Helton

Danny L. Helton, age 65, died unexpectedly of natural causes Sunday, February 8, 2026, at his home. He was born August 28, 1960, in Benham, Kentucky to Curtis and Fern (Creech) Helton. They preceded him in death along with his wife of almost 32 years, Robin (Lamb) whom he married November 15, 1987. She died in October of 2019.
Survivors include five children, Jennifer Smith of Corbin, Kentucky, Chelsie Castillo-Perez, Jamie Helton and Richard (Kevin) Peters all of Goshen, and Daniel Helton, Elkhart; seven grandchildren, Elijah, Alexander, Johnathan, Tyr, Orion, Athena and Jayden; and great-granddaughter, Alayla.
Mr. Helton worked in the general merchandise department for Meijer area stores. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time in nature. He loved being a grandfather and spending time with his grandchildren. Danny loved a good cup of coffee and listening to “oldies” rock ‘n roll from the 1970’s.

Funeral service was Friday, February 13, at Harp Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lester Cox officiating.
Burial followed in Douglas Cemetery in the Wooldridge community.
