Dewey “Woody” Woodson Raines, 73, of Highway 90, Corbin, departed this life on Friday, October 27, 2017 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.

He was born on October 17, 1944 in Corbin, to the late John McKinley Raines Sr. and Anna (Shoemaker) Raines.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, John McKinley Raines Jr.

Woody was an avid fan of NASCAR and enjoyed following it on TV.

He is survived by his sister Margaret Longstreth of Columbus, OH and sister-in-law Opal Raines of Corbin; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.

The funeral service was held Tuesday, October 31, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Croley officiating.

Following the service he was laid to rest in the Siler Cemetery in the Verne Community.
