Dozens of dirty diapers dumped on Gordon Hill, police investigating

Date:

Pampers 2xAuthorities made a disgusting discovery Tuesday in Corbin and the search is on for those responsible for the crime.

According to Second District Whitley County Constable Ron Bowling, 70 to 100 dirty, used diapers were discovered dumped near the intersection of Browning Acres Road and Gordon Hill Pike. Bowling said he believes the diapers were tossed by the roadside some time over the weekend.

“The individuals responsible for this incident have no respect for the environment or the citizens within this community,” Bowling said. “What they need is a couple weeks working with our inmates picking up trash and cleaning up this kind of mess.”

Bowling is investigating the incident as a case of criminal littering. If convicted, those responsible could face a sentence of up to 12 months in jail and a $500 fine.

He said he is currently seeking information as to who may be responsible.

“If anyone has any information or may have witnessed the individuals responsible, they can contact me through the Whitley County Dispatch Center at 606-549-6017.”
