Drug overdose awareness walk planned for Aug. 31 in Corbin

Date:

If you have lost a loved one due to a drug overdose or you know someone with a drug problem and you are looking for resources to help them, then you might want to attend an event scheduled for Aug. 31 at NIBROC Park in Corbin.

In honor of International Overdose Awareness Day, the Whitley County Health Department’s Harm Reduction Program is sponsoring a one-mile walk and resource fair from 4 – 6 p.m.

“Come join us to honor those lost to overdose,” the health department wrote in a flier for the event.

T-shirts are available on a first come, first serve basis. In addition vendors and resources will be available during the event.

The walk route will be marked for people to walk on their own.
