Edna Mae (Hatfield) York, age 85, of Corbin, KY, formerly of Clairfield, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 4, 2023. She was born March 16, 1938, in Valley Creek, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ellis and Della Hatfield, and loving husband of 59 years, Charles Edward York. She is also preceded in death by sisters, Irene and Wanita Hatfield; and brothers, Clearance Elbert, Lonnie, Donnie, and Otis Hatfield.
She is survived by sisters, Beatrice (Hatfield) Keener, Myrtle (Hatfield) Burns; and brothers, Bill, Paul, Carl, J.L., and Troy Hatfield.
Her surviving children are Jerry Wayne Hatfield and Debbie, Charles Edward York “Jr.” and Erica, Jeffrey Lynn York and Lora, and Lavendia “Katie” (York) Lay and William; surviving grandchildren, Alexander York, Samantha Powell, Lindsey York, Sarah Logan, Catherine York, and Megan York; she has also left behind a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Enda Mae York was welcomed home, surrounded by family. She lived her life devoted to God and loving others. It has often been said by many, she did not know a stranger and to know her was to love her.
Her family and faith meant everything to her. She was devoted to the Way of Holiness Church of God for 41 years. Taking care of her family was a priority throughout her life. Quilting was a great passion of hers and she sewed homemade quilts for each of her brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She spent her life as a witness to God’s word and sharing her testimony to all. Her smile, gentle care, and loving presence will never be forgotten.
Funeral service was Sunday, May 7, at the Harp Funeral Home with Rev. Orville Petrey and Bro. Walter Washam officiating.
Burial was Monday, May 8, in the Clairfield Baptist Church Cemetery.
