Edward “Trig” Gibson

Edward Hunter “Trig” Gibson, 85, passed away Friday, February 9, 2018, at St. Joseph Hospital in London.

Born May 15, 1932, in Clay County, he was the son of the late Green T. and Susan Gibson.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by four sisters: Sophia, Claudia, Artie Elizabeth, and Ruby Pearl; and two brothers: Otis and David.

He leaves behind his son, David Gibson and wife Debbie of London; daughter, Susie Tarvin and husband Greg of Corbin; mother of his children, Marlene Gibson Hensley of Corbin; four grandchildren, Shane Tarvin, Kelly Tarvin, Tiffany Edmondson, and Jonathan

Gibson; nine great grandchildren; one brother, Green T. Gibson, Jr., of Redbud, IL; and one sister: Mary Mason of Woodbine; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and numerous friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 12, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Helton and Pastor Billy Evans officiating.

Burial followed in Martin Cemetery with grandsons and nephews serving as pallbearers.

Full military rites were conducted by the D.A.V. Chapter 158.
