Eight-month investigation leads to arrest of Corbin man, seizure of crystal meth, cash and guns

Officers from six law enforcement agencies seized 11 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, cash, and numerous firearms, including one federally prohibited assault weapon, while executing a search warrant at a Tattersall residence Wednesday evening.

williams-mugAbout 8 p.m. Wednesday, the Williamsburg Police Department executed a state search warrant at a residence at 156 Trails End in the Tattersall community near Corbin.

The search warrant was the result of an eight-month investigation into the illegal sale of crystal methamphetamine, which was conducted by the Williamsburg Police Department, Corbin Police Department and London DEA, according to a Williamsburg police release.

When police arrived at the residence, officers made contact with Gary Williams, 37, who fled on foot out a back door and was taken into custody, the release stated.

Williams was arrested on a charge of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance more than two grams of methamphetamine, and was lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $10,000 fully secured bond. He is scheduled to be arraigned Nov. 1 in Whitley District Court.

The investigation is continuing and federal charges are pending, the release stated. Williamsburg police were assisted at the scene by Kentucky State Police,

Corbin Police Department, Whitley County Sheriff’s Department, London DEA and the London ATF.
