A six-month investigation by Kentucky State Police, Barbourville Police and Two Rivers Drug Task Force culminated with a buy-bust operation that led to the arrest of eight people and the seizure of more than 20 pounds of marijuana with a street value of more than $39,000.
On Wednesday, police arrested: Albert D. Davis, 53, of Corbin, Brandon Smith, 18, of Corbin, Damon D. Williams, 46, of Gray, Jonathan Martin, 19, of Corbin, Mark C. Martin, 46, of Gray, Michael Woody, 20, of Corbin, Tim Wayne Brock, 54, of Pineville, and Tonya Honeycutt, 25, of Corbin on charges of trafficking marijuana – over 8 ounces.
In addition, Davis, Williams, Jonathan Martin, Mark C. Martin and Brock face charges of engaging in organized criminal syndicate.
According to police, the suspects involved in the syndicate were targeting area high schools for their illegal sales.
The suspects were lodged in Whitley County Detention Center.
