Elliotte elected as sheriff, Wilson elected as jailer

With no incumbents in either race, it was already a foregone conclusion that Whitley County would have both a new sheriff and jailer come next year, but with both races being contested, who would hold those positions was far from known. Following the results of Tuesday’s General Election, there is no longer any doubt.

Bill Elliotte has been elected as the next Whitley County Sheriff, staving off competition from two write-in candidates in Jim Walden and Harvey Alder, with Jason Wilson winning over opponent Troy Thomas for Whitley County Jailer.
