Elmer Rose, 86, of Bacon Creek Road, Corbin, Kentucky departed this life on Monday, September 9, 2019 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

Elmer was born on April 11, 1933 in Harlan, Kentucky to the late Henry and Flora (Duff) Rose.

He was also preceded in death by his wife Helen (Harris) Rose.

Elmer was a veteran of the United States Military, having served 17 years in the U.S. Air Force and 3 years in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association and a member of South Park United Baptist Church for over 45 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Lynn Siler (Timothy Joe) of Rockholds; son, Ronnie Lee Rose of London; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Rose Mae Rose of Corbin; and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.

The funeral service was held Friday, September 13, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Cole and Rev. Jim Siler officiating.

Following the service he was laid to rest in the Young Cemetery on Highway 90 in Corbin.

Military graveside services were conducted by the United States Air Force Honor Guard.
