Eric Christopher Sutton, 50, passed away July 11, 2021 at the home of his parents in Williamsburg, Kentucky.
He was born October 9, 1970 in Somerset, Kentucky. His family moved to Williamsburg in 1973. He attended Williamsburg Independent Schools where he played guitar in the Jazz Band under the tutelage of the late Nanny Hayes and was a member of the All-State Choir. Eric was an accomplished musician and played with several bands. He received his degree in Biotechnology from the University of Kentucky, College of Agriculture, in Lexington and later worked for many years for the Division of Water in the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet in Frankfort, helping ensure clean drinking water for thousands of his fellow Kentuckians.
He is survived by his parents, Donnie and Carolyn (McKeehan) Sutton of Williamsburg; his brother, Brian Sutton; and his brother-in-law, Daniel (Mangan) Sutton of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; and his special and best friends for life, Travis Jones and Travis Powers; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who mourn his passing.
Funeral services were held on Friday, July 16 at Woodbine Christian Church. Pallbearers were Travis Jones, Travis Powers, Adam Howard, Kristopher Meek, Wesley Bradley and Keith Daniel Barnett. Burial was in the Sutton Cemetery in Woodbine.
The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers and other tributes, memorial contributions be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
