Ernest F. Lanham, 89, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2017 at his home in Corbin.

Born in Combs, Kentucky in Perry County, he was the son of the late Charlie B. Lanham and Bertha Baker Lanham.

He had worked as a mechanical supervisor for L&N/ CSX Railroad and was a member of Grace on the Hill United Methodist Church. Ernest had pastored First Creek Baptist Church in Perry County for 20 years; enjoyed traveling and going on cruises; woodworking and artistic painting; and golfing and going fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Charlie Lanham, sisters Pauline Wells and Nancy Lou York, and his first wife Betty Hill Lanham.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years Colleen Wilder Lanham; six children: Kay Lanham Isaacs (Steve) of Lexington, Kent Lanham (Pam) of Lexington, Joie Lanham Rose (Tony) of LaGrange, Scott Faulkner of Tunica, MS, Ginger Faulkner Shutt (Mike) of Smyrna, GA, and Todd Faulkner (Lisa) of Richmond, VA; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, all to mourn his passing.

The funeral service was held Saturday, August 19, at Grace on the Hill United Methodist Church with Dr. Tony Rose and Rev. Weyman McGuire officiating.

Burial was in Cumberland Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Grace on the Hill United Methodist Church.
