Ernest Martin Rains, 74, of Corbin, KY, departed this life on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington, KY.
He was born on January 18, 1947 to the late Marion Rains and Elsie Smith Rains. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by daughter, Dana Norris; grandson, Avery Norris; brother, Willy Rains; and his sister, Joann Canada.
Ernest is survived by his wife of 56 years Wanda Joyce Rains of Corbin, KY; three daughters, Cheryl Fuller (Paul) of Lexington, KY, Kim Brewer (Joey) of Mt. Washington, KY, and Holly Baker (Derek) of Corbin, KY; six grandchildren, Sarah Fuller, Jonathan Stivers, Jessica Stivers, Emma Baker, Allie Baker, and Alex Rains; two sisters, Mary Gilmore (Jim) of Texas, and Flo Bonkowski (Donald) of Elizabethtown, KY; two brothers, Delmer Rains (Yonghi) of Ohio, Jime Rains (Karen) of Williamsburg, KY; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He was a Veteran of US Army serving in Vietnam.
Graveside services will be at the Young Cemetery on Friday, November 19, at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Vernon Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the Young Cemetery
