Friday Night Highlights for Dec. 14, 2018

A trio of ultra-competitive basketball games highlighted the sports action in our area Friday night.

The Williamsburg Yellow Jackets and Lady Jackets hosted Corbin for a 50th District boys-girls double header Friday. The boys’ game ended up being much closer than many fans expected it to be, but in the end the visiting Redhounds won 72-66 to improve to 3-1, 1-1 on the year. With the loss, the Jackets fall to 2-4, 0-1.

The girls’ game between Williamsburg and Corbin lived up to the hype, with the Lady Jackets winning a thriller by one point, 53-52. The win improves them to 5-1, 1-0 while the Lady Hounds now stand at 4-2, 0-1.

Meanwhile, across town at Whitley County High School, the Colonel boys lost a heart breaker to the Lynn Camp Wildcats, 54-52, falling to 4-4 on the season. The Cats improve to 6-2.
