Galena Croley Coffey, age 89, of Williamsburg, KY, passed away Friday, July 15, 2022 at Baptist Health Lexington.
She was born May 25, 1933 on the family farm on Tackett Creek to the late William A. and Ida Bennett Croley.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Coffey; her daughter, Deborah Fole; and by ten brothers and two sisters.
She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church and an active member of society having worked as one of the first women lineman for South Central Bell Telephone Company.
She is survived by one son, Bruce Coffey (Debbie) of Dunnellon, FL; two grandchildren, Kristy Creekmore of Williamsburg, KY, and Mandy Baker of Ocala, FL; three great-grandchildren, Hannah Creekmore, Gunnar Creekmore and Aislynn Baker; one sister, Faye Eaton (Jim) of Mason, OH; and several nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Memorial service will be 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 6, at the Ellison Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jerry Lowrie and Rev. Donnie Bruce Patrick officiating.
Interment will be in Ida Bennett Croley Cemetery.
Visitation will be at 11:00 AM until the memorial service hour on Saturday, August 6.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Ida Bennett Croley Cemetery fund.
