Georgia E. Cole Smith Rucker, 86, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at her home.
Born in Harlan, she was the daughter of the late Jake Rucker and Lizzie Rollins Rucker.
Georgia was a homemaker, a member of Keck Baptist Church, and she loved her children and grandchildren very much.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Grover Rucker and Oleith Rucker; sisters Minnie Peace, Aileene Israel, Carrie Johnson, and Wilma Jean Burnette; grandchildren: Sammy Earl Mills, Latisha Cole, Jason Cole, and David Earl Cole; and two sons Earl Benny Cole and Jeffrey Grover Cole.
Georgia is survived by her children: Linda Mills (Sammy), Elizabeth Warren, Betty Sulfridge (Ronnie), Danny Cole (Michelle), Ralph Cole (Marie), Eddie Cole (Lisa), Lisa Pierce, and James Smith (Leslie); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; brother Willard Rucker (Linda); brother-in-law John Henry Burnette; and by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The funeral service was held Saturday, January 26, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Siler officiating.
Burial followed in the Clouse Cemetery with sons and grandsons serving as pallbearers.
