Glenn “Rainbo” Allen Baker, age 68, departed this life on April 17, 2023 at his home in Corbin, Kentucky.
Glenn was born January 27, 1955 in Corbin, Kentucky to the late Benjamin F. Baker and Edna Mae Norvell Baker.
He dedicated his life to Corbin and his community.
He served as a Battalion Chief with the Corbin City Fire Department for 20 years, West Knox Volunteer Fire Department, Knox County EMS, and was a former Funeral Service Assistant with Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, Corbin Funeral Home, and O’Neil-Lawson Funeral Home. He was a member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Edna Mae Norvell Baker; and his father, Benjamin Baker; and one infant brother.
He is survived by his brother, Larry Baker; niece, Jennifer Baker (owner of West Knox Pharmacy); brother, Richard Baker (wife, Virginia Marlou); nephews, Nathan Baker and Timothy Baker (wife, Tiffany); and great-nephew, Owen; and niece, Candace.
Visitation will be 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm Thursday, April 20, at O’Neil-Lawson Funeral Home in Corbin, Kentucky. There will also be a visitation from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Friday, April 21, at Poplar Grove Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm on Friday April 21, at Poplar Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton officiating.
Burial will follow at Lynn Camp Cemetery in Corbin, Kentucky.
A tribute to Glenn will be held at West Knox Pharmacy on Saturday, April 29, at 1:30 pm for the community. Everyone is invited to attend.
