Gray man sentenced to 12.5-year prison term for child porn

Date:

More than four years after he was initially charged, a Gray man was formally sentenced Tuesday to 12.5 years in federal prison for possession of child pornography.

Forty-nine-year-old Jerry Luke appeared in U.S. District Court in London Tuesday for the sentencing hearing in his case that began May 21, 2013 in Knox County Court.

Luke had pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography in January. In exchange, the agreement called for Luke to be sentenced to 150 months in prison.

In federal court, defendants are advised of the sentencing guidelines in the case, but advised the judge has the power to deviate from the guidelines in either direction.
