High-speed police chase involving stolen vehicle stops when suspect dead ends at jail

Date:

A Knoxville man, who was allegedly driving a stolen car with marijuana and fake money inside, led police on a high-speed chase from Tennessee into Kentucky on I-75 early Wednesday morning.

Scotty Inman is charged with speeding, fleeing police, DUI, and 15 other charges stemming from an early Wednesday morning police pursuit involving a stolen car.

Then he ran over spike strips set up by police on the Exit 11 off-ramp in Williamsburg, soon lost a tire, drove up the hill to the Whitley County Detention Center, and finally stopped the vehicle when he ran out of road behind the jail.

The man then jumped out of his vehicle and tried to flee on foot before tripping over a curb and being apprehended by three officers. Drug involvement is suspected, according to his arrest citations.
