Hildred “Bootsie” McKiddy Smith

Hildred “Bootsie” McKiddy Smith, 82, departed this life on Friday, April 28th at Baptist Health in Corbin.

She was born March 24, 1935 in Gatliff.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Clarence Albert “Pap” McKiddy and Clara “Granny” Bennett McKiddy of Williamsburg.

Bootsie was a very lovable, friendly, and cheerful Christian woman, who never met a stranger.

She is survived by her husband, Edward “Ed” Smith of Williamsburg; one son/brother, Albert “Eugene” McKiddy and wife Janis of Corbin; two grandsons; Michael Todd McKiddy and Machelle of Rockholds and Eric Mathew McKiddy and Bethany McKiddy of Barbourville; one granddaughter, Kara Nicole McKiddy of Rockholds; one great-granddaughter, Morgan Clair McKiddy of Rockholds; one sister, Mildred “Midge” Hamblin; a niece, nephews; and a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.

The funeral service was held Monday, May 1, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doyle Lester and Rev. Oshie Wilson Jr. officiating.

She was laid to rest in the McKiddy Cemetery on Coalstone.
