Junior Jeremiah Johnson lives again. He hit a three-point shot with 26.4 seconds to give Holmes a 65-62 lead followed that with another basket. Holmes wins 67-63.
Holmes went to the semifinals in 2007, finals in 2008 and this year they take it all.

Note: The last state championship overtime was in 1983 when Henry Clay beat Carlise County in three overtimes. Holmes coach David Henley was a member of the Carlisle County team.
This was an interesting tournament with plenty of surprises. Who would have picked Central-West Jessamine in the top bracket semifinals.
