Homer Edward Petrey, 71, of Craig Road, Williamsburg, departed this life on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at his home.

He was born on August 23, 1945 in Williamsburg, to the late Dempsey Edward Petrey and Lela Hamblin Petrey.

He is survived by his wife Midge Petrey of Williamsburg; daughter, Shawna Renae Meadors of Williamsburg; son, Michael Edward Petrey (Susan) of Williamsburg; two grandchildren, Breanna Meadors and Ashley Meadors; his mother, Lela Oshie Petrey of Williamsburg; five sisters, Margaret Ellis (James) of Williamsburg, Helen Cox (Joe) of Williamsburg, Theresa Young (Timothy) of London, Kay Martin (George) of Williamsburg and Rita Petrey of Williamsburg; two brothers, Bobby Joe Petrey (Elsie) of Williamsburg and Tommy Petrey (Nola) of Williamsburg; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 6, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronald Canada and Rev. Bill Meadors officiating.

Following the service he was laid to rest in the Canadatown Cemetery.
