Carl Joseph Johnson, 85, of Marsee Trail, Corbin, departed this life on Monday, May 1, 2017 at the Continued Care Hospital in Corbin.
He was born on June 26, 1931 in Monroe, MI to Clarence Johnson and Dorothy Gibson Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Johnson and Dorothy Williams; sister, Cathy Hewson; brother, Eugene Johnson; and grandson, Jerry Canada. Carl was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in Korea.
He is survived by three daughters, Linda McGlamery (Chuck) of Corbin, LaRene Ridings (Robert) of Corbin, and Janet Roaden (Herschel) of Corbin; one son, Joe Johnson (Patsy) of Williamsburg; ex-wife, Garnett Vanderpool Johnson of Corbin; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one sister, Marie Hoscheit; two brothers, Bill Johnson and Carl Williams, Jr.; many nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 4, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harold Lawson and Bro. Clay Canada officiating.
Following the service he was laid to rest in the Piney Grove Cemetery.
Graveside Military Honors were conducted by the American Legion Post #88 Honor Guard.
