Howard Widener

Howard Widener, 86, of Corbin passed away Monday, April 15, 2019. Born March 7, 1933.

He was the son of the late Bob and Marie Widener.

In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Betty and J.B. Sanders; and his sister, Louise Jones.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He leaves behind daughters, Peggy Greer and husband Doug, and Elizabeth Maguet; grandchildren, Dallas Greer, Elaine and Preston Napier, Jordan and McKenna Maguet, Eve Maguet, and Seth Maguet; great grandchild, Makenna Napier; five brothers, Harold Widener, Bill Widener and wife Iris, Charles Widener, Bobby Widener and wife Linda, and Johnny Widener and wife Julie; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and numerous friends. He will be deeply missed.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 20, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial followed in McHargue Cemetery with full military rites by the American Legion Post 88 Honor Guard.

Serving as pallbearers were Jordan Maguet, Dallas Greer, Bobby Widener, John Widener, June Widener, and Frank Widener.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Alz.org or Parkinson.org.
