I-75 lane closures scheduled for Monday in Whitley County

Anyone planning on traveling between Williamsburg and Jellico, Tennessee via I-75 early next week should plan for possible delays or seek an alternate route. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists lane closures will occur on I-75 northbound and southbound in Whitley County on Monday, Oct. 17, due to bridge maintenance operations.

The work schedule is listed below:

  • On Monday, Oct. 17, southbound traffic at mile point 2.4 in Whitley County will be reduced to one lane (left lane will be closed) at 9 a.m. and is expected to conclude at 10.30 a.m.
  • On Monday, Oct. 17, northbound traffic at mile point 14.5 in Whitley County will be reduced to one lane (right lane will be closed) at 11:30 a.m. and is expected to conclude at 2 p.m.

Motorists are advised to use caution during this period and be aware of signage, road crews and other drivers. The work is dependent on weather conditions.
