John and Alice Jones celebrate 50th anniversary

John and Alice Jones of Ray, Mich. will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a party given by their children at DeCarlos Banquet Hall on April 24, 2009. The Jones’ were married on April 25, 1959 at Jellico, Tenn. by Minister F.F. Essary, where both were born and raised. 

Mr. Jones is the son of the late Martin Ted and Ollie Jane Jones. Mrs Jones is the former Alice Lawson, daughter of the late Troy Lee and Dorothy Ruth Lawson.

The couple has three daughters, Lois (Dennis) Schneider of Ray, Mich., Tina Long of Shelby Township, Mich. and Sheila Hammock of Harrison Township, Mich. and three grandchildren, Tabatha (John) Hill, David John Harms and Dakota Long.

Mrs. Jones retired from Wal-mart, as a jewelry manager. Mr. Jones retired after 30 years with the Ford Motor Company, as a mechanic specialist.
