John Young, 90, of Highway 904 East, Williamsburg, departed this life on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Baptist Health in Corbin.
He was born on July 17, 1927 in Whitley County, to the late Arthur Grant Young and Elizabeth “Lizzie” (Powers) Young.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Alma Ruth (Rose) Young; a son, John Matthew Young; grandson, Andrew Rickett; and a great-granddaughter, Lily Rickett. John was a member of Yaden Church of God.
He is survived by his daughter, Vickie Rickett and husband Danny of Williamsburg; son, Jerry Young of Williamsburg; grandchildren, Amanda Croley and husband Ben of Williamsburg, Heather Housley and husband Alex of Corbin, Casey Rickett and wife Tracy of Williamsburg, Daniel Rickett of Williamsburg, Jordan Rickett of Williamsburg, Geri Ann Collins and husband Jeremy of Fort Bennett, GA, John Wayne Young of Williamsburg and Gracelynn Bryant of Williamsburg; great grandchildren, Kallie Housley, Drake Collins, Jace Collins, Ava Rickett and Kadren White; many nieces and nephews; other family and friends to mourn his passing.
The funeral service was held Thursday, June 28, at the Yaden Church of God with Rev. Jerome McCullah officiating.
Following the service he was laid to rest in the Henry Young Cemetery in the Mulberry Community of Williamsburg.
